The Institute's regular office hours are 8:00 A.M. to 5:00
P.M. Monday through Friday, except for the following holidays:
- New Year's Day - January 1
- Memorial Day - the last Monday in May
- Independence Day - July 4
- Labor Day - the first Monday in September
- Thanksgiving Day - the fourth Thursday in November
- The day after Thanksgiving
- Christmas Day - December 25
The Institute has occasional need for instructors, substitutes and student workers. Openings with specifics will be posted on the Virginia Tech job site at www.jobs.vt.edu. Applicants are requested to send cover letter and resume to the above address to the attention of the director. Requirements for positions follow:
Instructors: Masters or related degree in teaching English as a second language. Experience teaching English as a second language to adult learners. Experience living and teaching English overseas highly desirable.
Student Services Aide: Eligible for Federal Work Study. Interest/experience in working with international students who may not speak English well. Experience promoting recreational and social activities.
